John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people through his songs of pop-folk and many of them based in Colorado. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is the only Denver Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist following his time in small Folk Music Groups. The song was written in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver was introduced to an earlier version he knew right away it was destined to be a hit single.
