Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. Matthew Matt James is the father of Manny James, and Patty James of mixed race. He has the Nigerian father as well as a Caucasian mother. He graduated in 2010 of Sanderson High School and furthered to Wake Forest University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Economics in 2015. James became famous when he appeared on The Bachelorette as a reality TV celebrity. James was chosen in 2020 as the new bachelor for The Bachelor season 25, being the show's first African American male star. The series premiered later that year. James seemed to be the perfect match to be the role because he has an attractive, well-rounded and tall personality. Rachael Krukconnell became his love interest at the end of season. In 2021 he partnered with the well-known dancer Arnold to take part in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold were 12th in the contest.
